SUPPORT BEEKMAN STREET ARTISTS

THIS HOLIDAY SEASON

Virtual online Marketplace features fine art and craft

(Saratoga Springs, NY)

With just a click from the comfort and safety of your home you can view and purchase the work of talented local artists and support the Saratoga Springs art community.   The Saratoga Springs Art District (SSADI) is proud to bring you the Beekman Street Arts District Online Holiday Marketplace.   The Marketplace is accessible through the Beekman Street Art District website at SaratogaArtDistrict.com.  This creative initiative is made possible thanks to the cooperation of Saratoga Arts, the generous funding of SSADI sponsors, the dedication of event planners and the technical assistance of Arts Spark.

The 8th Annual Beekman Street Art Fair, a yearly event celebrating the local arts community and showcasing the art of regional artists, was canceled due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Grateful for the opportunity to pivot in these challenging times, the Online Holiday Marketplace gives the public the chance to browse and buy an amazing variety of fine art and craft created by the artists of Beekman Street and beyond.

This new and exciting e-commerce site features the work of a group of unique and accomplished artists, easily identified by individual name and art category including jewelry, painting, wearables, ceramics, pottery, and home decor.   Local pick up is offered along with direct shipping.

Participating artists include Eden Compton, Eden Compton Gallery;  Meryl Davis, Blackbird Studio; Meg Dalton, Meg Dalton Designs; Rhea Love Doran, Works with Fire; Frittelli & Lockwood, Textile Studio; JuliAnn Goronkin; Laurie Goodhart; Peggy Gray, 22 Shades of Gray; Sarah Jordan, Jewelry by Sarah Jordon; Kathy Klompas, Ragged Edge Studio; Julia Lines, Machine in Hand; Selma Nemer; Michelle O’Hare; Susan Rivers, Greentree Fiber Arts; Marysa Sacerdote; Laura Shore, Farmshare Studio; and Dolores Thomson, Clay Concepts.  The Online Holiday Marketplace is easy to navigate and offers the artists the ability to connect with customers and share their newest work with friends and fans near and far.  The Marketplace site will be live, active and updated through the winter and beyond . New artists and artwork will be added throughout the season.

The Beekman Street Art Fair alternate projects are coordinated by Arts District advocates Eden Compton, Cecilia Lockwood, and Susan Rivers.   The Fair and the substitute project Marketplace are funded by a grant from the Community Arts Grant from Saratoga Arts.   Saratoga Arts’ Community Arts Grants are made possible with funding by the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of Governor Andrew Cuomo and the New York State Legislature. SSADI also thanks local supporters Stewart’s, Adirondack Trust and Fingerpaint for their generous donations and the City of Saratoga for working with and advising us.
