SARATOGA SPRINGS — The Tang Teaching Museum at Skidmore College will host a special evening of soul-stirring gospel music when the Heavenly Echoes take the stage as part of the museum’s summer concert series. The event is scheduled for this Thursday, and admission is free to the public.
Based in Troy, the Heavenly Echoes have been performing traditional Black gospel music for over four decades. Known for their powerful harmonies and heartfelt performances, the group has become a regional favorite, often drawing inspiration from the classic gospel sounds of the 1950s and ’60s. Their setlists typically include both spirited originals and timeless spiritual standards.
The concert is part of the Tang’s “Upbeat on the Roof” series, a longstanding tradition that brings live music to the rooftop terrace each summer. In case of inclement weather, the performance will be moved indoors to the museum’s Payne Room, ensuring the music goes on rain or shine.
Guests are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or blankets and arrive early, as seating is first come, first served. The museum’s galleries will remain open during the event, offering a chance for attendees to enjoy both visual art and live performance in one visit.
