Earlier this month a federal jury found that Live Nation and its subsidiary, Ticketmaster, operated as an illegal monopoly to dominate the live music industry and overcharge consumers. The Saratoga Performing Arts Center (SPAC) has a long-term partnership with Live Nation, where the entertainment giant acts as the primary promoter for popular rock, country, and pop concerts at the center. The NY Times podcast “The Daily” aired a 30-minute episode that took a close look at the the case, underlying facts, the decision and what the likely results will be on prices of concert tickets.
