Saratoga Report Congratulates Adirondack Northstars 16U AA Hockey Team
Adirondack Northstars 16U AA TB hockey team, with players from the area including Saratoga Springs, led by Coach Jeremy Carner, competed this past weekend in the USA Hockey New York State Championship Tournament at the Nexus Center in Utica. They were 1 of only 8 16U AA teams in all of New York State that qualified for the tournament.
The #4 seed Northstars beat the West Seneca Wings, Team Long Island Lady Islanders, and then upset the #1 seed Rochester Edge in the semifinals to advance to the Championship game, where they came up just short against the #2 seed Canton Blades, earning a Silver medal.
Both Canton and the Northstars now advance to the USA Hockey National Championship Tournament that will be held in St. Louis, MO March 25-29 where they will play against the best of the best teams from Minnesota, Massachusetts, Connecticut, Las Vegas, and the rest of the USA. Only sixteen teams are invited to the 16U AA National Championship Tournament, so it is quite the accomplishment! Congratulations and best of luck!
