Saratoga Report Exclusive: Wrongful death lawsuit filed by Darryl Mount’s mother against Saratoga Springs scheduled for trial in November of 2022

The Civil trial filed by Darryl Mount’s Mother, Patty Jackson, in 2016 is scheduled for trial in Saratoga Supreme Court on November 7, 2022. Mount was a biracial man who suffered severe injuries after police reported they pursued him on foot in downtown Saratoga Springs after witnessing him slam a woman’s head into a brick wall.

Saratoga Springs Police reported that while being pursued, Mount fell off construction scaffolding in the back of Gaffneys bar on Caroline Street.  His resulting injuries led to Mount being in a coma and ultimately his death in 2014.  The lawsuit alleges a different version of events, claiming that police beat Mount.

This will be a jury trial before State Supreme Court Justice Thomas D. Buchanan. .Saratoga Springs is represented by attorney John Aspland of Fitzgerald Morris Baker Firth of Glens Falls and Patty Jackson is represented by attorney Brian Breedlove of Breedlove & Noll.
