TRAVEL ADVISORY
Watch for Weekend Closure of ramps at Northway Exit 17 and Route 9 in Moreau, Saratoga County
The New York State Department of Transportation (NYSDOT) is advising motorists that the northbound Adirondack Northway (Interstate 87) off-ramp for Exit 17 in the Town of Moreau, Saratoga County, will be closed starting Friday, May 12, at 7 p.m. until Monday, May 15, at 6 a.m. for work on a previously announced bridge replacement and interchange reconfiguration project. The on-ramp from northbound U.S. Route 9 to the northbound Northway will also be closed during this time.
Northbound Northway motorists that would normally use Exit 17 will be detoured instead to Exit 18, where they can loop around to head southbound on the interstate to reach Exit 17. Northbound U.S. Route 9 motorists that would normally head north on the Northway will instead be detoured southbound to reach Exit 16 (Ballard Road), where they can loop around to head north on the interstate.
Motorists are urged to slow down and drive responsibly in work zones. Fines are doubled for speeding in a work zone. Convictions of two or more speeding violations in a work zone could result in the suspension of an individual’s driver license.
Motorists are reminded to Move Over a lane, if safely possible, or slow down significantly whenever encountering roadside vehicles displaying red, white, blue, amber or green lights, including maintenance and construction vehicles in work zones.
